Melbourne Dockland has been suffering from lack of residence picking up these apartments. The wind makes winter a chilly experience for many.
The recent establishment of ferris wheel is supposed to be the largest one in southern hemisphere, based on the frame work design of London Eye.
However, this one is now rendered inactive waiting for further repair due to the hot and humid Melbourne weather.
At least, it works well as a good prop in sunset image (not moving). :)

An empty amusement park is a little eerie, but I also was going to say the ferris wheel makes a good silhouette in the sunset.
Ferreira, the ferris wheel is only a brand new one, opened in January this year!

The place is still filled with many restaurants charging a premium
So I am sure the place will still survive as one of the most dating spots in Melbourne :)
