This was a rainy day at Lake Fyans where it was one of the major 3 lakes in Grampians National Park. The place was as if it was in Africa somewhere. So dry and arid that the locals had long deserted the place.
I took the shot with leica 90mm f2 summicron. A lens that brought so much more colour and details with a wide aperture number.
This image really remnds me how severe the global warming is affecting my home state.

It's a beautiful photo. I love the drama of the bright green constrasting with the moody sky!
Thank you, Lynda. Your words are truely appreciated!
Nice light and composition on this one. Trees, dead or alive, are always one of my favorite subjects. The sky here is interesting, too. Was this actually part of the lake bed at one time?
The dead trees look very dramatic. Wonderful shot!
Mark, Thank you for your time to visit. The place was once a lake bed due to drought. Somehow the erratic weather brought a bit of rain and some water snakes had returned to the region :)
JM, the dead trees are my favorite theme to photograph in Australia
This is a beautiful photo because of the overcast blue sky and the bare trees in a row.
Happy New Year's to you and your family! :)
thank you
Happy new year!
Stark and beautiful!
Hope you and yours have a happy 2009!
Great light and composition. The contrast between life and death in this shot is dramatic.
May peace, joy, health, prosperity and killer photos fill your year.
Happy New Year!
thank you all for the feedback

Xuana, I do not understand the language you are writing but I can see that it must be a good one :) My ego is blinding me...
Amel, you are too gentle and really appreciating your kind words :)
Beautiful composition, so "silent" and peaceful.
